Techno/Topia - Fototaxis 3. kiállítás Archív
20 Sep 2025

Techno/Topia - Fototaxis 3. kiállításmegnyitó Köszöntőt mond: Grászli Bernadett igazgató A tárlatot megnyitja: Cséka György esztéta, kritikus, kurátor FOTOTAXIS 3. Az előző nagysikerű No/Body/Nem/Test című válogatás a női test kortárs reprezentációjával foglalkozott, női fotográfusok munkáit bemutatva. Láng Zsolt: Beszédes képek – Erdélyi anzix | Experimentális tárlatvezetés (A program teltházas) Archív
18 Sep 2025

Bizonyos távolságból. Kísérőprogramok a Tapintatlan fotóriporter című kiállításhoz. 2. rész A tapintatlan fotóriporter. Erdélyi Lajos archívuma a Ceaușescu-korszakból című, október 26-ig nyitva tartó kiállításhoz kapcsolódóan az Archivum kísérő programokat szervez. 2025. szeptember 11. A Bizonyos távolságból című nyolcrészes programsorozat második eseményeként Láng Zsolt író tart rendhagyó, videós-szövegfelolvasós tárlatvezetést Beszédes képek – Erdélyi anzix címmel.
17 Sep 2025

The W. Eugene Smith Grant is designed to encourage and support visual storytellers whose photographic work renews the tradition of W. Eugene Smith’s dedicated compassion as evidenced during his 45-year career as a photographic essayist. Special consideration will be given to work that promotes social change, that embraces new technologies and image distribution, and that seeks to integrate the tradition of photography and social change with contemporary practice. The judges will be looking for a photographer and project that seem most likely to use exemplary and compelling photojournalism and documentary photography (possibly supplemented by or incorporating multi-media) to address an issue of import and impact related to the human condition: social change, humanitarian concern, armed conflict, or other topics of interpersonal, psychological, cultural, social, environmental, scientific, medical and/or political significance, ideally expressing an underlying acknowledgement of our common humanity. The Fund’s Board of Trustees impanels a three-member international jury. The jury meets twice. At the first session the jury reviews the required materials: applications, proposals, and photographs. They select finalists based on the substantive and intellectual merits of their projects. Finalists will be given the opportunity over a short period of time to refine their proposals and to answer specific questions from the jury about their project. At the second session the jury will review all new material and select the W. Eugene Smith Grant recipient, the W. Eugene Smith Grant Fellowship recipient, and the W. Eugene Smith Grant Finalist. Prizes: For 2025, the amount of the W. Eugene Smith Grant is $30,000 and two additional $10,000 Finalist Grants will be awarded. Eligibility: You must be 18 years of age or older to apply for this grant. Into Your Eyes - Photographic Portraiture In The Digital Era Archív
17 Sep 2025

This juried open call invites submissions of photographic portraits, to be shown in a virtual exhibition organized by LACP. The term portrait is used here broadly, referencing images of groups, single humans and non-human beings. The image could be an expression of an emotion, a conceptual meditation on loved experience, or a documentarian effort. As we collectively experience the alienation, isolation and loneliness brought about by our current digital era, portraits seem more pressing and relevant than ever. To look at one’s eyes in an image feels like an immediate invitation to connect, to explore, to be curious about others, to wonder about what the image reveals and what it could never disclose. It’s an ongoing call for empathy, for a relationship with those we will probably never meet, whose lives we, the viewers, will never experience. Emanuel Levinas wrote about the ethical values we reveal in the world by encountering one’s face. Roland Barthes was fascinated by portraits from the past, and the idea that he is looking at eyes that looked at the world’s greats, or that he is looking at a person no longer living. Photographic portraits shorten the distance between the past and present, between us and those around us, and might help us see beyond ourselves, beyond our time, beyond our experience in the world. Prizes: 1st Place winner will receive $1,000; 2nd Place winner will receive a $500 LACP gift card; 3rd Place winner will receive $250 LACP gift card. Honorable Mentions: Other artists will receive honorable mentions and have their work shown with the winners in a in-person exhibition at LACP Headquarters opening on August 21st, 2025. Eligibility: The exhibition is open internationally to all levels. The juror will select works based on creativity, originality, and quality. LACP invites artists working in all mediums and styles with a relationship to photography to take part in the exhibition. If AI was used to generate any components of the submitted image(s) that should be indicated in the description of the concept and/or the format. The deadline to send digital files for consideration is Tuesday, October 7, 12:00 midnight, 2025. Copyrights & Usage Rights: Each photographer retains all copyrights to his or her images. Photographers whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant the Los Angeles Center of Photography (LACP) the right to use their images for display on LACP’s website and for the purpose of promoting exhibitions, promoting LACP’s programs, and promoting the artist. Promotions and images may also be placed on social networks for LACP with artist credit. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact from LACP. The artist understands that LACP will not be held responsible for loss, theft or other damage, whether caused by the negligence of its officers, members, or others. Photographers are welcome to sell their photos during the online exhibit, with 50 percent commission to LACP. Submission of application will constitute an agreement to all these terms and conditions. Earth Partner Prize 2025 Archív
11 Sep 2025

Climate change is felt by everyone, irrespective of their age. We are aware that people of all generations have valuable insights and experiences to offer in this ongoing global conversation. As a platform operating in the creative industry, we are also aware of the struggles faced by artists and freelancers of all ages. The decision to set the age limit between 14 and 30 years of age was meant to specifically provide a platform for youth engagement, much like other student-focused competitions. For this initiative, we are interested in showcasing the emotions of a generation that has had little decision-making power and will inherit dramatic consequences. As the Earth Partner platform grows in the future, we are committed to creating more initiatives for intergenerational dialogue. Your submission should be your own personal interpretation of the ecological crisis, however participants might explore themes such as: climate justice, corporate greenwashing, Indigenous rights, material innovation, wildlife and ecosystem conservation, grassroots activism, intersectional environmentalism, regeneration, the physical and mental impacts of the climate crisis, and nature-based wisdom. Prizes: Eight finalists will be awarded cash prizes of $10K, $5K or $2K. An additional 20 creatives will receive honourable mentions by a globally recognised panel of judges. Eligibility: Between 14-30 years as of 31st October 2025.
