What is The Emergence Project? The Emergence project is to give recently graduated photography students a chance to showcase their work to a wider audience. The exhibition will be held in our gallery and all printing expenses will be covered by us at GGoP, this exhibition will be completely free for the students selected to participate. We will also be making an accompanying zine to go along with the exhibition, which will be available for purchase, any proceeds made from the sell of the zine will be used to help cover costs of the exhibition. This year our Emergence Project exhibition will be exhibited at the same time as the British Journal of Photography's Female in Focus exhibition in our gallery this July. Why are you doing this? We know it can be really hard to get your work out there once you have graduated and we know that it has been especially hard for those who graduated during Covid-19 due to the closures and restricted of galleries and other exhibition spaces. So we want to give those who missed out and those in the future their first stepping stone post graduation. Who can apply? Any UK based photography student who has graduated between 2022 - 2025 can submit their work for a chance to be selected to take part in this graduate showcase. How much will it cost? Nothing, we at GGoP have decided to cover the costs of putting on this exhibition. We know it can be really expensive to pay for printing, venue hire etc to put on an exhibition, that's why we cover any expense ourselves. Will also be producing a zine to go along with the exhibition, our hope any proceeds from the sale of the zine will help cover some of the costs of the exhibition and maybe help go towards hosting this exhibition again in the future. Prizes: Photographers who are selected will have their work displayed in a month long exhibition in our gallery, with their work also appearing online in an online gallery on our website. They will also have additional work showcased in a zine and will receive a free copy of this zine. Eligibility: UK Photography Graduates only Copyrights & Usage Rights: The copyright of the Works during and after the exhibition remains with the Artist. Do you celebrate the essence of beauty or strive to heighten recognition of the perilous path of our environment? Szeretettel meghívjuk Önökett a február 8-án az Esküvői Fotókiállítás ünnepélyes megnyitójára, ahol három tehetséges dunaharaszti fotós – Márton Tünde, Fugerth Péter és Nagy Sándor – munkáin keresztül pillanthatunk be az esküvők varázslatos világába. A kiállítás a szerelem, az öröm és a meghitt pillanatok különleges történeteit tárja elénk. A három alkotó más-más stílusban, mégis egységes érzelmi mélységgel ragadta meg a házasságkötések egyedi pillanatait. A részvétel ingyenes! https://www.facebook.com/events/622971753422772/
Szeretettel várunk Zilahi Anna költő, képzőművész és Molnár Veronika kurátor, galériavezető záró tárlatvezetésére Zilahi Anna Urtica című kiállításán febuár 8-án (szombaton) 16 órakor. A kiállítás szombaton 19 óráig megtekinthető. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Zilahi Anna: URTICA 2024.12.12. – 2025.02.08. A csalán ennek a kétértelműségnek a megtestesítője: érintése fájdalmas, mégis gyógyító hatású. [...] A kiállítás a Kulturális és Innovációs Minisztérium 2024-2.1.1-EKÖP-2024-00020 kódszámú Egyetemi Kutatói Ösztöndíj Programjának a Nemzeti Kutatási, Fejlesztési és Innovációs Alapból finanszírozott szakmai támogatásával készült. A Frida Kahlo fotógyűjteménye című kiállítás a mexikói művésznő életének rejtett pillanataiba enged bepillantást, új szemszögből láttatva a latin-amerikai művészet egyik legrejtélyesebb és legemblematikusabb alakjának viharos sorsát. A 2009-es mexikóvárosi bemutatója óta a kiállítás a világot járja, húsz városban már közel egymillióan keresték fel. Bármilyen fontos is volt számára a fotográfia, Frida gyűjteményének egy részét évtizedekre elrejtették a nyilvánosság elől. Amikor 1954-ben meghalt, férje, Diego Rivera a mexikói népnek adományozta a Kék Ház néven ismert mexikóvárosi otthonukat, hogy ott egy, Frida életének és munkásságának szentelt múzeumot rendezhessenek be. A Frida Kahlo Múzeum mára a világ egyik leglátogatottabb kiállítóhelyévé vált. Szinte mitikus aura övezte a fürdőszobát a Kék Házban, amelyet e kincsek őrzésére kijelöltek.
Hogyan alakultak a túlélési stratégiák? Milyen kulturális és történelmi párhuzamokat találunk? Milyen eltérések mutatkoznak meg a mindennapi gyakorlatokban? Vajon ki lehet Zöld György? Ezekre a kérdésekre is választ keresünk a vezetés során. A vezetést Bazsó Borka, Nagy Dóra, Tihanyi Anna kurátorok tartják. Judged by industry-leading photographers and editors, the competition is your opportunity to be noticed and win a great prize. THE CATEGORIES People More often than not, it’s the people you encounter that make a trip — but it can be difficult capturing the character of someone you’ve only just met. Have you managed it? City life Labyrinthine souks, striking architecture, edgy street art — life in cities takes on many forms. Finding your subject amid the hubbub is the key to urban photography. Landscape Shooting a landscape might seem easy, but few can really draw out the defining features. Can you identify intriguing contrasts, or show a level of detail that others can’t see? Wildlife Wildlife is one of the great wonders of travel. Spotting creatures in their natural habitat can be about luck — capturing them with your camera is not. Food Whether it’s a local farmer bringing in the harvest or chefs hard at work in a street kitchen, this category celebrates every stage of the culinary journey from field to fork. Portfolio The portfolio category demands more than a single stunning photograph — up to 10 images should combine to tell a multifaceted yet cohesive story of a destination, whether it fits into one of the other categories or encompasses them all. The Prizes There will be one overall grand prize winner, and 5 category winners. The winners' images will be published in National Geographic Traveller (UK) magazine. Grand Prize The Grand Prize winner, from the six categories, will receive a luxury three-night stay to a UK hotel of their choice from the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) portfolio. The prize includes the SLH Book, a limited-edition coffee-table book featuring the brand’s beautifully curated portfolio. (...) supplier. Fine Art Photography Awards is one of the largest award giving bodies for a community of artists ushering an era of new trends in the world of photography. Created in 2014, this competition is a melting pot for people where passion, interest, sense of beauty and openness to diversity in photography collide in intergalactic proportions. At Fine Art Photography, we seek to find artists and unique souls who breathe and live for creativity—where we provide a platform of promotion and support in their pursuit of self-realization and development. This contest caters to individuals actively attuned to experimentations and new trends in art. Fine Art Photography delights in providing an avenue for talented souls to brandish the world’s eccentricity, variety, beauty, and even ugliness from the artist’s lens. And yes, you can have it your own way! Delight in the crazy beautiful fusion of simplicity and complexity of the world with us! In a world dominated by a traditional approach to photography, we know how difficult it is to break the great divide between two seemingly polarizing styles, with modern approach on one hand and traditional on the other. But take heart, for this is what Fine Art Photography is all about—it’s about you showing your own vision of the subject. At Fine Art Photography Awards, you can take center stage and allow the judges to get a glimpse of how you dissect beauty in the harmony of your photographs. In this competition, everyone is free to use any technique. Obligatory devices and other coercive methods is not how we roll. Only the final effect counts. We break all the rules, and we want you to break them with us by creating new trends in art.
