Jana Hartmann: Mastering the Elements A kiállítás ingyenesen megtekinthető: 2022. március 16. – 2022. április 24. Kedd – vasárnap 12 és 19 óra között. Hétfőn és ünnepnapokon zárva. Kurátor: Cserna Endre A PaperLab Galéria nagy örömmel mutatja be az utóbbi évek egyik legizgalmasabb kiadványát, amely a tudományos felfedezések és a tudománynak mint látásmódnak a kultúrtörténeti, létfilozófiai szerepét vizsgálja. A Frankfurt am Mainban dolgozó Jana Hartmann német fotográfus könyve, a Mastering the Elements annak a sokrétű történetét dolgozza fel az alkímiától a transzhumanizmusig a művész egyedi és progresszív eszközeivel, hogy a „tudományos” ember milyen módon igyekezett visszahatni világára, milyen módon befolyásolta a társadalom és a történelem változásait. Az egészen különféle forrásokból származó képek együttese olyan fénytörésben mutatja be a felvilágosodott emberi gondolkodást, amely érzékenyen, mégis mellbevágóan szembesít annak ambivalens mivoltával, dialektikájával. Jana Hartmann: Mastering the Elements Open to the public free of charge: 16 March 2022 – 24 April 2022 Tuesday - Sunday 12:00 – 19:00. Closed on Mondays and public holidays. Curator: Endre Cserna PaperLab Gallery is glad to present one of the most exciting publications of recent year. The book, titled Mastering the Elements, examines scientific perspective as an agent in cultural history, humanism, and ontology. German photographer Jana Hartmann, based in Frankfurt am Main, deals with the multifaceted past of the conquest of nature – from alchemy, through early modernism to trans-humanism – with the artist’s unique and progressive means, depicting how science sought to react to and alternate its all-time world, how it influenced changes in society, philosophy and understanding history. This ensemble of images depicts Enlightened Thinking in refraction that confronts its ambivalent nature and its socio-psychological status quo. https://www.facebook.com/events/519636752847758/
A GeoNight főszervezője, az európai földrajzi társaságokat összefogó EUGEO. 2022-ben április 1. pénteket jelölte ki a GeoNight rendezvénysorozat időpontjának. Ehhez a kezdeményezéshez Intézetünk is csatlakozott programokkal. A rendezvény keretében szeretnénk „A világ a mi szemünkkel” című fotókiállítást rendezni.

They had two very intense workshops together and Brenton is proud to be a part of this award in Paula's memory. Brenton Hamilton is an historian and renowned educator and also a working artist who's especially dedicated to using 19th century photographic methods in experimental ways. He has devoted his career to the history and practice of cyanotype, gum bichromate and platinum as base materials for his personal work. In addition to his practice, Brenton is an educator at Maine Media Workshops and has taught there for nearly 30 years. Brenton's work has been exhibited internationally and is held in many public and private collections. His monograph, A Blue Idyll, was published in the fall of 2020 by Schilt Publishing. About Paula Riff Paula Riff was a Los Angeles based artist known for creating one of a kind camera-less photographic works on paper that embrace bold colors, form and design. She combined the historical processes of cyanotype and gum bichromate allowing her a physical and intimate relationship with the materials that she used to push the boundaries of the medium while considering themes of abstraction and the natural world. Her work was selected for the Critical Mass Top 50 Award in 2018 and 2019, and she was a 2018 finalist for the Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women in the Alternative Process Category. Paula also received the Museum Purchase Award at the Medium Photo Festival in 2019.
