Food photography is a still life genre used to create attractive, idealized representations of food to enhance its marketing appeal to the consumers. Praxis is not interested in idealized food; we are interested in photography that documents the leftovers, the remains, the aftermath of food during or after its consumption. Examples of the aftermath of food include: Meal remnants, food covered plates, utensils and cups. Rotting and molding food. Food waste. Pest infested food. Dries bits, moldy bits. Food dried to surfaces. Burnt food. Food covered faces and clothing. Food dropped to surfaces. Food in environmental settings. People eating food. Food chewing, mashing, gnashing, and any unvarnished representations of packaged, processed, and frozen food types. Praxis Gallery seeks the submission of photographic works that explore any possible concept of the aftermath of food. All genres, capture types, black & white and color, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission. A Bauhaus Contemporary művészeti program és kiállítás azzal a céllal jött létre, hogy alapításának 100. évfordulója kapcsán a Bauhaus iskola illetve az ahhoz kapcsolódó, hatását a mai nap is intenzíven kifejtő művészeti mozgalom, kiemelten pedig az abban meghatározó szerepet vállalt magyar alkotók munkássága előtt tisztelegjen. 15 hazai kortárs fotóművész közreműködésével a különleges összeállítás arra igyekszik felhívni a világ művészetkedvelő közönségének figyelmét, hogy a Bauhaus, mint iskola, látásmód, téma, vizuális inspirációk forrása ma is élő hagyomány a magyarországi művészeti közegben. Az utazó tárlat többek között Barcelona, Basel, Budapest, New York és Róma után érkezett ezúttal Delhibe. A Liszt Intézet – Magyar Kulturális Központ Delhi és az EDGE Communications művészeti ügynökség szervezésében, az Art Market Budapest közreműködésével kifejezetten az India Art Fair-re készített válogatás került a nagyszámú közönség elé, míg az eredeti kiállítás teljes anyagát a tervek szerint még az idei évben India és Délkelet-Ázsia legnagyobb fotóművészeti központja, a gurugrami Museo Camera látja majd vendégül. Nem a mostani az első alkalom, amikor a szervezők valamely nagyszabású művészeti vásár különleges vonzerejére építik a Bauhaus Contemporary sikerét, hiszen korábban a svájci Basel Art Centerben létrejött tárlat a világ legjelentősebb művészeti vására, az Art Basel kísérőeseményeként jött létre. Az idén 13. alkalommal megrendezett India Art Fair a művészeti világ egyik leglátogatottabb eseménye, amely 12.000 négyzetméteres területen közel 80 kiállító számára teremti meg a bemutatkozás lehetőségét. Foton fórumestek V. rész: Periférián túl – beszélgetés Szász Lillával és Kozma Zsolttal Az FFS által szervezett fórumest-sorozat célja, hogy fiatal fotósok, illetve minden érdeklődő személyes példákon keresztül megismerkedhessen a kurátor-művész / galerista-művész együttműködések különböző formáival. Moderált beszélgetések keretén belül kérdezünk művész-kurátor és művész-galerista párosokat közös munkájukról, tapasztalataikról és a piaci reprezentációhoz való viszonyulásukról. Április 27-én Szász Lilla és Kozma Zsolt beszél közös együttműködésükről, a hazai és nyugati művészeti életben szerzett tapasztalataikról, illetve a fotográfia társadalmi perifériákat átívelő erejéről. Szász Lilla Lisszabonban és Budapesten él és dolgozik. Érzékeny, naplószerű fotósorozatai a társadalmi tabukat és a másság különböző formáit vizsgálják. Munkáiban az emberi sérülékenységet jeleníti meg: fotóin marginalizált társadalmi csoportok, prostituáltak, intézetben élő, javítóintézetben élő fiatal lányok vagy akár egy HIV-pozitív idős nő életébe nyerhetünk betekintést. Projektjeit többek között a madridi Photo España, a varsói Nemzeti Galéria valamint a salzburgi Fotohof kiállításain mutatták be. 2010–2011-ben a Magyar Állami Eötvös Ösztöndíjjal az ICP támogatásával New Yorkban dolgozott, 2018-ban és 2019-ben az Asylum Arts Grant ösztöndíjas művészeként kutatott Lisszabonban és New Yorkban. Kozma Zsolt művészeti szakíró, kurátor Brüsszelben él, Brüsszelben és Budapesten dolgozik. Művészeti tárgyú írásai többek közt a Műértőben, a tranzitblogon, az exindexben, a HVG-ben, a HVG Online-on és számos más kiadványban, kötetekben, katalógusokban jelentek meg. 1999 és 2017 között a Műértő alapító munkatársa; 2006–2012-ig a Videospace Galéria társ-vezetője és kurátora; 2007–2009 a Tranzitblog társalapítója és -szerkesztője, 2016 óta pedig az Inda Galéria művészeti vezetője, illetve 2017 óta a brüsszeli székhelyű Art of Care kiállítási és kulturális projektszervező szervezet alapító-vezetője és a pécsi Zsolnay Negyed 2021-22-es kortárs művészeti programjának tanácsadója. The ICRC Humanitarian Visa d'Or Award, founded in 2011, is an annual award, with prize money of €8,000, for a professional photojournalist who has covered a humanitarian issue related to a situation of armed conflict. The subject chosen this year is urban warfare and the impact on civilians, either trapped and hiding or forced to flee. The winner of this year’s award, with prize money of €8000 funded by the ICRC, will be awarded during the screening evening of Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the Campo Santo. Members of the jury, all recognized figures in the field of photography, shall meet in Paris in late middle of June 2022 to select the Winner of the Award which will be officially presented at an evening show at the International Festival of Photojournalism Visa pour l'Image- Perpignan in September 2022. The Award Winner will receive prize money of 8000 euros in a single payment presented with the Award in September 2022. The Award Winner must be present in Perpignan in September 2022 to receive the Award (fees covered by the Award Winner). The Applicant may submit his project at another price. What objects have caught your eye and become the subject of study? What curiosities are included in your still life? It could be a casual one-time find on the street, or something that compelled you to return to it repeatedly, outside or in the studio. No object is insignificant if it demanded your attention. All capture and processing methods are welcome. We are very pleased that Sandrine Hermand-Grisel will curate this exhibit. She will select up to 35 images for exhibition in the Middlebury, Vermont gallery, and another 40 images for the Online gallery. All 75 images will be promoted on social media and appear in the exhibit catalog. Visual storytellers need support now more than ever, and that's why, we're moving forward as scheduled with accepting proposals for the Inge Morath Award, a $5,000 grant given to a woman photographer under the age of 30 to support the completion of a long-term documentary project. One Awardee and up to two finalists are selected by a jury composed of Magnum photographers and the Executive Director and staff of the Magnum Foundation and the Inge Morath Estate. Inge Morath was an Austrian-born photographer who was associated with Magnum Photos for nearly fifty years. After her death in 2002, the Inge Morath Foundation was established with a limited-term mission to manage Morath's estate and facilitate the study and appreciation of her contribution to photography. With the closure of the research space in 2014, Inge's archive was acquired by the Beinecke Library at Yale University, and a set of Morath's master prints by the Yale University Art Gallery, where they are now available to scholars. Because Morath devoted much of her enthusiasm to encouraging women photographers, her colleagues at Magnum Photos established the Inge Morath Award in her honor. The Award is administered by the Magnum Foundation as part of its mission to expand creativity and diversity in documentary photography, in cooperation with the Inge Morath Estate. MinΨó Szert Károly: Első tekercsek A kiállítás megtekinthető: 2022. április 27. – 2022. június 5. Kedd – vasárnap 12:00-19:00 Hétfőn és ünnepnapokon zárva. Kurátor: Kereszty Anna Minyó Szert Károly (1955) Balogh Rudolf-díjas képzőművész Szíriában készített első tekercsei a fotográfia műfajával és egy még idegen kultúrával való ismerkedés dokumentációi. Az 1973-ban Damaszkuszban és Palmürában készült fotókon még egy háborútól sértetlen világ épületei és alakjai elevenednek meg egy 18 éves fiú szemszögéből. A képek csaknem ötven évig a fiókban hevertek, most először láthatóak a PaperLab Galéria falain. Minyó Szert Károly – akit a bécsi Anzenberger Gallery képvisel – rendszeresen állít ki Magyarországon és külföldön. A kiállítás ingyenesen megtekinthető. Curator: Anna Kereszty The first rolls ever taken by Károly Minyó Szert (1955), Rudolf Balogh Prize-winning artist, were made in Syria & are a documentation of his acquaintance with the genre of photography and a still foreign culture. The pictures, taken in Damascus and Palmyra in 1973, show the buildings and figures of a world still unscathed by war, as seen through the eyes of an 18-year-old boy. His works, which have been lying in a drawer for almost fifty years, are now on display for the first time on the walls of the PaperLab gallery. Pályázati kiírás Nevezési oldal Statuslist (ID) A rómaiak által közel kétezer éve alapított Sopianae, majd a frank uralom idején Quinque Ecclesiae névre hallgató város ókeresztény síremlékei, kápolnái ma az UNESCO világörökség féltett kincsei. Szent István püspökséget alapított itt, a Pécs városnév 1093-ban bukkan fel először írott emlékeinkben. Nagy Lajos itt alapítja meg 1367-ben az ország első egyetemét, amely 2017-ben ünnepelte 650 éves jubileumát. Ebben a humanista szellemi központban élt Janus Pannonius is, itt nyílt meg az ország első közkönyvtára. Pécs a török hódoltság idején is közigazgatási központ maradt, számos máig fennmaradt építészeti emlékekkel. Nagyhírű kulturális intézményei (Nemzeti Színház, Kodály Központ, Pannon Filharmonikusok), művészeti gyűjteményei (pl. Zsolnay, Csontváry, Vasarely, Amerigo Toth, Martyn Ferenc), pezsgő kulturális élete révén méltán nyerte el 2010-ben az „Európa Kulturális Fővárosa” címet. Pécs az UNESCO kulturális örökségének listáján is szerepel. A 2016-ban útjára indított „Sopianae Int’l Photo Salon” a 60-as, 70-es évek pécsi fotográfiai sikereire alapozva szeretné a város, az egyetem kulturális életét napjainkban is színesebbé, vonzóbbá tenni. A 2022. évi Sopianae szalon egyben tisztelgés a 65 éves Mecseki Fotóklub fennállása előtt. A pályázat a határon túl élő magyar fotósokat is megszólítja. Pályázati szekciók A. OPEN COLOR B.
