ISEM Prizes For Documentary Photography 2023 Archív
29 Jan 2023

How many talented photographers, in France or elsewhere, lack the means to finish a project? How many, after spending several months documenting a subject, stop. Because their subject is more complex than they had thought, because it requires more time than they imagined. Photographers then go on to other things hoping to find a more lucrative story, requiring less of their own funding. Prizes: It is in order to support these difficult projects that the ImageSingulières festival, the news service Mediapart and ETPA, the photography and game design school in Toulouse, have committed themselves to two awards : - The ISEM Grand Prize is open to photographers around the world. With an endowment of 8000 euros, it is intended to help complete a documentary project already in progress. The prize is to be used to finalise the winning work. Once the winners are announced, their application portfolio will be screened during the Grand Prix ceremony on Saturday 20th May 2023 at ImageSingulières in Sète, and published on the Mediapart website in the weeks following presentation. - The second prize, ISEM Young Photographer Prize is for those under 26 years of age residing in France. With an endowment of 2000 euros, it is also to support a work in progress and will be published on Mediapart. The winner may also attend a 3rd year Masterclass at the ETPA. 9TH Fine Art Photography Awards 2023 Archív
29 Jan 2023

Fine Art Photography Awards is one of the largest award giving bodies for a community of artists ushering an era of new trends in the world of photography. Created in 2014, this competition is a melting pot for people where passion, interest, sense of beauty and openness to diversity in photography collide in intergalactic proportions. At Fine Art Photography, we seek to find artists and unique souls who breathe and live for creativity—where we provide a platform of promotion and support in their pursuit of self-realization and development. This contest caters to individuals actively attuned to experimentations and new trends in art. Fine Art Photography delights in providing an avenue for talented souls to brandish the world’s eccentricity, variety, beauty, and even ugliness from the artist’s lens. And yes, you can have it your own way! Delight in the crazy beautiful fusion of simplicity and complexity of the world with us! In a world dominated by a traditional approach to photography, we know how difficult it is to break the great divide between two seemingly polarizing styles, with modern approach on one hand and traditional on the other. But take heart, for this is what Fine Art Photography is all about—it’s about you showing your own vision of the subject. At Fine Art Photography Awards, you can take center stage and allow the judges to get a glimpse of how you dissect beauty in the harmony of your photographs. In this competition, everyone is free to use any technique. Obligatory devices and other coercive methods is not how we roll. Only the final effect counts. We break all the rules, and we want you to break them with us by creating new trends in art. Fine Art Photography Awards is made up of 20 categories divided for professional and amateur level of expertise: Abstract, Architecture, Experimental, Conceptual, Fashion, Fine Art, Landscape, Nature, Night Photography, Nudes, Mobile, Open Theme, People, Photojournalism, Portrait, Seascape, Street Photography, Travel, Wildlife/Animals. Deanna Dikeman: Leaving and Waving Archív
24 Jan 2023

Deanna Dikeman: Leaving and Waving A kiállítás megtekinthető: 2023. január 24. – 2023. március 5. Kedd – vasárnap 12:00 – 19:00 Hétfőn és ünnepnapokon zárva. Kurátor: Kereszty Anna „A fényképezés fokozatosan a búcsúzási rituálénk részévé vált; bepakolni a bőröndöket a kocsiba, ölelés és puszi, integetés, majd elhajtás." Deanna Dikeman megható fotókönyve a családról, a meghittségről, a búcsúzkodásról és az idő múlásának kegyetlenségéről mesél. A huszonhét évet felölelő sorozatban Dikeman szüleit fényképezte búcsúintés közben. A Leaving and Waving 2020-ban a Mack First Book Award díjra lett jelölve, illetve 2021-ben a Paris Photo–Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards shortlistjén is szerepelt. A könyv és a hozzá készült kiállítás ingyenesen megtekinthető a PaperLab Galériában. https://www.maimano.hu/programok/kiallitas-deanna-dikeman-leaving-and-waving Deanna Dikeman: Leaving and Waving Open to the public: 24 January 2023 – 5 March 2023 Tuesday – Sunday 12:00 – 19:00 Closed on Mondays and public holidays. Curator: Anna Kereszty "The photographs turned into our departure ritual; pack suitcases into the car, do hugs and kisses, wave to each other, drive away.” Deanna Dikeman's touching photo book tells a story of family, intimacy, goodbyes and the melancholy of time passing. For twenty-seven years, Dikeman photographed her parents waving goodbye. When she took the first photograph in 1991 she didn’t think of it as a project just to preserve the moment, but over the years it has become a ritual to capture the moment of farewell. Documenting might make leaving easier, as it is unsure when a farewell will be the last. The book chronicles the visits, the changing seasons, the years passing by and the aging of the parents. In 2009, Dikeman's father passed away, but his mother continued to say goodbye for another eight years, last year already from the nursing home. The last image in the series was taken in 2017 of the empty driveway after the funeral of the photographer's mother. Dikeman's personal and intimate work not only captures the melancholy of time passing, but also gives us insight into intimate moments of a family that is easy to connect with, as it evokes emotions and memories familiar to all of us. Leaving and Waving was nominated for a Mack First Book Award in 2020 and shortlisted for the Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards in 2021. The book and its exhibition can be viewed free of charge in the PaperLab gallery. https://www.maimano.hu/programs/exhibition-deanna-dikeman-leaving-and-waving https://www.facebook.com/events/894945618357806/

Filmklub: Kamerával az őserdő mélyén – Boglár Lajos filmjei Archív
18 Jan 2023

Kamerával az őserdő mélyén – Boglár Lajos filmjei: A sámán nyaklánca (1968), Piaroa indiánok (1967-68), Brazília elveszett kultúrái (1985). Boglár Lajos számos dél-amerikai indián közösségben végzett terepmunkát. A filmkamera nélkülözhetetlen eszköze volt gyűjtőútjainak. Bevezeti: Szeljak György Helyszíne: Néprajzi Múzeum Moziterme Jegyárak: Teljes árú: 1200 Ft Kedvezményes (6-26 év között és 62 év felett): 600 Ft Jegyvásárlás: https://jegy.neprajz.hu/program/filmklub-orok-mozgo-kep-142661/916867 A műsorváltoztatás jogát fenntartjuk! *** Filmen rögzített hagyomány a Néprajzi Múzeum Filmgyűjteményében Hogyan tehetők örökkévalóvá a folyamatos mozgásban lévő kulturális jelenségek, hagyományok? Miként lehet a különböző földrészek, régiók népeinek szokásait, életmódját nemcsak rögzíteni, hanem lendületükben, impulzivitásukban az utókor számára megőrizni, átadni? A 150 éves Néprajzi Múzeum, a néprajztudomány mindig is élen járt abban, hogy a legfrissebb technológiákat kutatásai, gyűjteményi munkája során is alkalmazza: elegendő a gramofon és a népzene kutatás inspiratív kapcsolatát feleleveníteni! A Néprajzi Múzeum gyakorlatába a hanghoz hasonlóan nagyon gyorsan beépültek a különböző képrögzítő eljárások is: a néprajzi gyűjtőutakon a fényképezés mellett az 1930-as évektől a mozgófilmen való dokumentálás is megjelent. A többségükben keskenyfilmre készült néprajzi filmfelvételek ma a múzeum filmarchívumának jelentős részét teszik ki, miközben a filmkészítés és dokumentálás ma is aktív része a múzeumi munkának. Az ÖRÖK-MOZGÓ-KÉP vetítés sorozat nemcsak a Filmgyűjtemény különleges darabjaiból válogat, hanem a különböző korszakok, technikai eljárások lehetőségeiről is képet ad, előhívva egy-egy mára letűnt világ örökké velünk maradó mozgó képeit. https://www.facebook.com/events/929430674891742/

Mosollyal a világ felé – Kiddiez fotópályázat Archív
18 Jan 2023

A pályázat kiírása: "Fordulj mosollyal a világ felé és a világ visszamosolyog rád! Te hogyan hozol vidámságot a mindennapokba?
