Rendhagyó tárlatvezetésre készülünk. Nagy örömömre Keleti Éva meggyógyult és szívesen beszélget Bánkuti Andrással a kiállítás képeiről egy kerek asztal mellett. Remélem a közönség is bekapcsolódik a végén néhány kérdéssel.

Jel-képek fotókiállítás megnyitó Archív
14 Oct 2022

13 Oct 2022

A megyeháza földszinti kiállítótere Kuti Zoltán Hermann, a Prisma Fotóklub tagja egy, a városunkban ritkaságnak számító kiállítással készül. A fotóművész ezúttal művészi akt fotóit tárja az értő szemek elé. Oly módon állította össze a tárlat anyagát, hogy a néző betekintést nyerjen a részletfotóktól kezdve a meztelenségnek a természettel való egybeolvadásába, de akár egy régi, rusztikus szoba vagy egy nagy, üres színházterem „szemei” is örvendezhessenek a látványnak. Ebben a műfajban sokan a „csúnya, szégyenteljes és helytelen” jelzőkkel illetik a modelleket, fotósokat, művészeket. Kuti Zoltán Hermann számára viszont a legnagyobb elégtétel, ha e legszebb, ugyanakkor legnehezebb műfajban készült alkotását elismeréssel illetik. A kiállítás november 2-ig látogatható.
11 Oct 2022

Minyó Szert Károly fotóművész Innen nézve / View from this side című kiállításának megnyitója Archív
11 Oct 2022

A kiállítás célja Minyó Szert Károly fotográfus tematikusan és technikailag különleges, az egyedi képalkotásra koncentráló munkásságának bemutatása. A kiállítás anyaga egyedi válogatás, mely időben jelentős periódust ölel fel: a 80-as évektől napjainkig keletkezett alkotások kerülnek kiállításra, melyek között jelentős számban lesznek művek, melyekkel a közönség itt találkozhat először. Az időben korábban készült alkotások egy része most kapott végső formát, és a válogatás méltán reprezentálja majd a művész, mind tematikájában, mind technikájában rendkívül széles spektrumú képalkotási megközelítését, a klasszikus analóg fotográfiától a plexifotós képépítésen keresztül a modern technikákig, mindezt az egyedi képalkotás technológiájának jegyében. Call For Entries: The Poetry of the Ordinary Archív
09 Oct 2022

“Joy comes to us in moments — ordinary moments. We risk missing out on joy when we get too busy chasing down the extraordinary." - Brené Brown As photographers, we have developed skill in seeing beneath the surface of our subjects, and often find in them the beauty, poignancy, and poetry that exist in ordinary moments. For this exhibition, we seek the simple poetic elegance of the ordinary. All captures and processes are welcome. We are honored that Henry Horenstein will be the curator for The Poetry of the Ordinary. He will select up to 35 images for exhibition in our Middlebury, Vermont gallery and another 40 images for our Online Gallery. She Shapes Biodiversity Photo Contest Archív
09 Oct 2022

She Shapes Biodiversity is a photo contest that aims to celebrate women’s contributions to the environment and seeks to recognize and amplify the roles and contributions of women that can pave the way for the implementation of a gender-responsive post-2020 global biodiversity framework. This contest runs prior to the United Nations Biodiversity Conference, also the Fifteenth Meeting of the Conference of Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP 15), this 7-19 December in Montreal, Canada. This timing is to put attention and generate discussion on the need for a gender-responsive global biodiversity framework, with emphasis on a stand-alone target on gender equality (Target 22) in the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. The proposed Target 22 is key to ensure women’s rights and gender equality in biodiversity governance is duly recognized, respected and pursued in living in harmony with nature. #SheShapesBiodiversity will be part of Women4Biodiversity’s larger #GenderIsABiodiversityIssue campaign for a gender-responsive global biodiversity framework. WHY SHE SHAPES BIODIVERSITY In both research and policy, women have been portrayed as victims or as vulnerable sectors of the population, as well as beneficiaries, but seldom recognized as agents of change. While there is truth to women’s vulnerability, with studies showing that women are disproportionately affected by biodiversity loss and climate change, women are also historically known to be natural resource managers for their families and communities, ensuring the latter are fed, healthy and cared for. Women from indigenous and local communities especially have traditional knowledge and practices on sustainable use of natural resources from biodiversity, and in the conservation and restoration of biodiversity. The word “shapes” in “She Shapes Biodiversity” shows women as active agents of change in different actions for biodiversity – in sustainable use, conservation, restoration of biodiversity, and more. Prizes: The top 15 photos will be shown in Women4Biodiversity website and social media accounts. They will also be used and/or exhibited during COP 15 this December in Montreal, Canada, where 196 nations will gather and adapt the post-2020 global biodiversity framework. This framework will guide each nation in their biodiversity policy for the next 30 years. Photographers of the top 5 photos will receive 200 euros each. Note: Women4Biodiversity may still use the photos of the other winners, finalists, and contestants for our other campaigns, whether in COP 15 or others. Eligibility: No age limit Copyrights & Usage Rights: W4B will use the photos only for our campaign purpose. GESTE Paris: Meta Contra Verse Archív
09 Oct 2022

For this 6th edition of GESTE Paris we seek shape-shifting avatars, intangibilities, NFTs and minted and forged physical representations thereof, WEB 3.0, A.I. generated, digital and blockchain based works, the metaverse, and "verse" in general as a lyrical contra post in dialogue with historical art concepts of imaginary worlds. This year's distinguished international jury will select six winning entries to be included in the exhibition open to the public from October through late November and online in conjunction with Paris Photo and Photo Days. GESTE Paris will purchase at least one work from the jury selection which will be added to the GESTE permanent art collection. Shortlisted artists will have their work included and displayed during the exhibition. The jury will look for works which address the theme of the exhibition, Meta_Contra_Verse, in a striking and original manner with a strong interplay between process, form and content. The Open Call section of the exhibition receives submissions from all over the world and provides an opportunity to showcase new artists’ work that has not received the exposure it deserves alongside established artists. Beyond the exhibition itself there is a program for artist, curator and expert-led private tours, talks and events which will take place throughout the month of the exhibition. This opportunity echoes the very purpose of Paris Photo week, Photo Days, and beyond by participating in its abundance and legitimacy among collectors, artists and academics. This years jury includes: Charlie Gepp (artist, collector, entrepreneur), Josh Hanes (founder Uplift Aerospace), Sarah Hughes (photographer, NYTimes photo editor), Tariq Krim (entrepreneur, technologist, philosopher), Dominic Palfreyman (collector, arts philanthropist) and Lexing Zhang (international curator). Prizes: Winners will be included in the forthcoming exhibition in Paris and at least one winner will have their work purchased by the organisers, GESTE Paris. Eligibility: Anyone can enter Copyrights & Usage Rights: Winner will grant a licence for the exhibition and its documentation. Leica Women Foto Project Award 2023 Archív
09 Oct 2022

The Leica Women Foto Project serves to empower the female perspective and its impact on today’s visual stories. We believe the shape of a story is reactive to the storyteller’s perspective, developing a narrative that too often is reflective of individual truths. The Leica Women Foto Project encourages diversity and inclusion in visual storytelling to amplify voices typically underrepresented in photography, discovering the breadth of shapes formed by a single story. Conceived in 2019, the initiative has evolved to offer cash awards, mentor ship and business opportunities and Leica equipment to serve the female perspective in the world of photography. The theme of this year's award is a personal photo project that bears witness to humanity, expressed through the female point of view. Submit 10 images made between 2019 – 2022. Submissions can be made on any camera make and model. Owning a Leica camera is NOT required. Smartphone photography is NOT allowed. Applications will be judged by three categories Quality of Photography, Dedication to the Medium, and Sophistication of Project. MOTION BLUR Archív
09 Oct 2022

In most cases, photography is used to “freeze time,” with a still image. Motion in photography creates a paradox: the image is a frozen moment in time but what is captured is an object that is a blur of motion – an apparent streaking, bending, distorting and /or movement of light and objects in the foreground or background of the image frame. Blur can demonstrate the velocity of movement. It can convey the emotional dimensions of the subject photographed, presenting dream like qualities by invoking the surreal and transitory nature of time passing. Meteors streak across the sky, ghostly figures move through a room, the artist paints shapes with a light source. These are some examples of how blur represents motion in time-lapse photography. Praxis Gallery seeks the submission of photographic art that demonstrates the fundamental qualities that make motion & blur a compelling element of contemporary photography. All genres, capture types, black & white and color, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission.
